Cary Group is streamlining its operations in Norway

Cary Group, a European market leader in vehicle glass repair and replacement, has made the strategic decision to streamline its operations in Norway. This means that the business will consist solely of MPS Bilskade and Quick Car Fix, active in large and smaller collision damage repair. The decision means that Cary Group has chosen to sell parts of the existing car glass workshops to Norwegian Riis Montasje AS.

Cary Group's strategic review of its Norwegian operations means that the company continues to invest in businesses in which the company is the market leader, a strategy that Cary Group has for all its respective markets. This means that Cary Group is leaving its car glass operations in Norway and has come to an agreement with Norwegian Riis Montasje AS of a divestment of 12 workshops within Cary Bilglass. The other workshops, active in replacement and repair of car glass, will be closed.

Cary Group established itself on the Norwegian market in 2014 and has become one of the three largest players in car glass in Norway. Over the years, Cary Group's Norwegian operations have expanded and today, apart from being active in car glass repair, also consist of operations in large and smaller collision damage repair, through the acquisition of MPS Bilskade in 2022 and Quick Car Fix in 2021. Growing within this vertical is a Nordic strategy for Cary Group. These operations in Norway are very strong and through MPS Bilskade they are the market leader.

"Cary Group's strategy is to operate as number 1 or 2 in its respective markets. Through its successful presence in collision damage repair in Norway, it is natural that we put all our energy into focusing on this business. Besides this, we have not successfully established the same solid cooperation with the insurance companies in Norway as we have done in other countries. With that in mind, we see it as a natural decision to sell some of the car glass workshops to Riis Montasje AS, since these workshops will gain more from being part of a player with a larger presence on the Norwegian market. In addition, Riis operate a high-quality auto glass chain and come from a strong family culture, just like many of the businesses within the Cary Group. I have personally worked with the Riis family in auto glass for almost 30 years, both as a supplier, as a competitor and as a partner through AGE*. We look forward to deepening this collaboration and working closely together in the future," says Anders Jensen, CEO of Cary Group.

"We look forward to welcoming employees from parts of Cary Group's operations to Riis, which will strengthen our professional competence, says Frithjof Riis, owner Riis Montasje AS.

*AGE (Automotive Glass Experts) is a network for companies active in automotive glass and is present in 24 countries. The members can take advantage of the network through knowledge exchange and agreements. Cary Group has a membership in Sweden, Denmark, UK, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

The acquisition is subject to a competitive review, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

Cary Group achieves bronze medal in EcoVadis rating

Cary Group, a leading European provider of automotive glass repair and replacement services, is pleased to announce the bronze medal achieved in the Ecovadis rating.

EcoVadis is a leading provider of sustainability ratings and helps companies manage ESG risks and improve sustainability practices. In 2023, Cary Group made the strategic decision to start assessing both ourselves and our suppliers with EcoVadis during 2024. In the first year of assessment, EcoVadis have awarded Cary Group with a bronze medal in the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, scoring above the industry average in all four categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. This achievement reflects Cary Group’s commitment to sustainability, even though we are convinced to make improvements in recognized areas. Cary Group were also proudly rated as a Leader in Carbon Management Level, meaning that we have best-in-class decarbonization commitments, actions and reporting capabilities. This aligns with our climate vision to provide services with a minimum impact on the environment. One of Cary Group’s key targets is to reduce its CO2e emissions from scope 1 & 2 by 42% and scope 3 by 52% in relation to gross profit from 2022 to 2030, targets verified in line with the Science Based Target initiative’s (SBTi) 1.5°C scenario.

In 2024 EcoVadis revamped its assessment scheme and standards. Now, only the top 35% of companies that undergo the rigorous EcoVadis assessment are awarded a medal.

"Receiving the bronze medal in the EcoVadis rating not only acknowledges our efforts but also inspires us to continue our sustainability initiatives. Becoming leaders in decarbonization shows that our efforts in this area are paying off," says Mia Ejendal, COO Cary Group.

Ryds Bilglas chosen as If Skadeförsäkring’s main supplier for glass damages

Ryds Bilglas has been chosen as If Skadeförsäkring's main supplier for glass damages for a period of five years. The five-year agreement is a very strong proof of Ryds Bilglas' high customer satisfaction, the investment in a sustainable offering with a high repair rate, being able to offer competitive prices, a digital customer journey and proximity to customers through an extensive network of workshops. Ryds Bilglas' commitment to working with If in the long term is also a strong contributing parameter to the partnership agreement.

Cary Group publishes the 2023 Sustainability Report

Cary Group today announces that the company’s 2023 Sustainability Report available at www.carygroup.com/sustainability/

“In 2023, we took several great steps on our journey to become truly sustainable. We achieved an all- time high Group wide repair rate of windscreen of 33% and established a green fleet strategy including a policy that no more new ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) company cars will be procured either via leasing or purchase. It is with pride that our goals have been verified by the Science Based Targets Initiative. I know that we in 2024 will continue to take more steps towards a more sustainable future, continuing offering our customers smarter solutions for sustainable car care”, says Anders Jensen, CEO of Cary Group.

Cary Group’s reduction targets, now verified by SBTi, sets out a reduction of CO2e emission from scope 1 & 2 by 42%, in line with the 1.5°C scenario from 2022 to 2030. Scope 3 emissions should be reduced in relation to gross profit by 52% by 2030, compared to the base year 2022. The Scope 3 target includes purchased goods and services, fuel and energy, transportation and distribution and waste generated in operations.

As a part of our reduction road map to reach our SBTs, Cary Group will from 2024 and onward continue to climate compensate for its own operations (Scope 1 and 2), but for the value chain emissions (Scope 3), instead implement internal carbon pricing (ICP) to accelerate the emission reduction.
