Cary Group expands UK market presence through acquisition of Nationwide Windscreens (York) Ltd.

Cary Group has acquired Nationwide Windscreens (York) Limited. The acquisition of Nationwide Windscreens (York) is the fourth acquisition outside of National Windscreens, Cary Groups existing business in the UK. 

“I am pleased to confirm that Cary Group UK has acquired Nationwide Windscreens (York) with effect from 1st September 2025. By integrating Nationwide Windscreens (York) into the National Windscreens network, we enhance our ability to meet increasing demand, particularly in the insurance sector where we already have positioned National Windscreens as a trusted provider”, says Stuart Boon, Managing Director Cary Group UK.

Previously owned by the Brett family, the sellers Gary Brett and Mark Chilton have been actively growing the business of Nationwide Windscreens (York) since 2004. Gary and Mark will both remain with the company.

Ryds Bilglas strengthens its operations with the acquisition of AB Mölnlycke Lackerings- och Karosseriverkstad

Ryds Bilglas, Sweden’s leading player in vehicle vehicle glass repair and replacement and part of Cary Group, has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the auto repair workshop AB Mölnlycke Lackerings- och Karosseriverkstad.

This becomes Ryds Bilglas' eleventh acquisition within the collision repair industry in Sweden and marks an important step in the company's ongoing focus on panel and paint repairs. The acquisition is planned to be completed on September 1, following the signing of the agreement in July.
MLK is a well-established player in the industry and has operated in the Gothenburg region since the 1960s. The company offers a wide range of services within maintenance, painting, and bodywork for all types of vehicles. Through partnerships with several insurance companies and a long history of high-quality solutions, MLK has built a strong reputation and position in the region.

Cary Group has acquired Western AG Limited, which trades as National Windscreens in Northern Ireland. The strategic purchase completes Cary Group’s acquisition of the National Windscreens consortium membership in the UK.

“Cary Group has invested significantly in the UK, having started the consolidation of the National Windscreens members 7 years ago, and with this latest acquisition we are in a fantastic position to enhance further the service for our customers”, says Stuart Boon, Managing Director Cary Group UK.

Western AG Limited is a well-established provider of windscreen fitting services across Northern Ireland, trading as National Windscreens, and is positioned as a trusted provider to both UK wide and local Northern Ireland customers. The company was established 23 years ago and is run by its owners Frazer Follis and Barry Loughran. Barry will remain connected to Western AG via a multi-year supply agreement with his Distribution company, ESG. Frazer, Finance Director, and Peter McGeown, General Manager, will remain with Western AG and become a part of the Cary Group UK organisation going forward.

ExpressGlass strengthens its presence in Portugal through the acquisition of Newcar

ExpressGlass, a leading actor in windscreen repair and replacement, strengthens its position in Portugal with the acquisition of Newcar, active in vehicle glass repair and replacements with a network of 32 workshops across Portugal.

"The acquisition of Newcar is an important part of strengthening ExpressGlass presence and network in important locations in Portugal. The quality of the service of the technicians in Newcar has a high standard and we believe Newcar is of a great cultural fit to ExpressGlass", says Joana Marques, CEO of ExpressGlass.

 

Newcar was founded by Luis Oliveira and Nuno Mendonça in 1998 and is now led by Managing Director Antonio Nunes, who will play a key role in supporting ExpressGlass during this transitional period.

As of today, ExpressGlass has 88 workshops, of which 47 owned and 41 franchisees. With the acquisition of Newcar, the number of workshops will amount to 120.

Cary Group has acquired Autoscreens Direct Limited, which trades as Autoscreens. The acquisition of Autoscreens is the third acquisition outside of National Windscreens, Cary Groups existing business in the UK.

“This strategic acquisition is part of Cary UK’s ongoing growth plan, strengthening our presence in a high-demand region and expanding our capacity to serve customers, says Anders Jensen, CEO of Cary Group.

Autoscreens is a well-established provider of windscreen fitting services across Watford, Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Milton Keynes and Slough. Autoscreens was established by John Considine in 1996. John will remain as General Manager reporting to the UK Managing Director Stuart Boon.

MPS Bilskade acquires Vinger lakk og karosseri AS

MPS Bilskade, part of Cary Group, has acquired 100 percent of Vinger Lakk og karosseri AS, a franchise workshop located in Kongsvinger in Norway. Vinger lakk og Karosseri was founded in 2006 and is family-owned.

"MPS Bilskade is very pleased that Vinger Lakk og Karosseri has chosen to become a wholly owned workshop for us. They will be an important part of our network as it will be the first own workshop in the Inland region in Norway. I am pleased that Robert and his team are joining MPS Bilskade and look forward to our continued collaboration," says Jan Lindberg, CEO of MPS Bilskade.

"I am pleased that we at Vinger Lakk og Karosseri will continue our journey together with MPS Bilskade. Cary Group’s reduction targets, verified by SBTi, are to reduce CO2e emissions from Scope 1&2 by 42% and Scope 3 by 52%, in relation to gross profit, by 2030. Cary Group has acquired Masterglass Windscreens Limited in the UK, which trades as Autoglazing. The acquisition of Masterglass Windscreens Limited is the second acquisition outside of National Windscreens, Cary Groups existing business in the UK.

Cary Group expands into France through acquisition of 123 Pare-Brise

Cary Group, a European market leader in vehicle glass repair and replacement (VGRR) services, has signed an agreement to acquire 51% of the French company 123 Pare-Brise, a leading independent VGRR specialist in France.

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Marquette-lez-Lille and Bourgoin-Jallieu, 123 Pare-Brise operates a network of 129 owned workshops across France. The acquisition provides Cary Group with a strategic entry into the French VGRR market, which has significant size and growth potential. As a leading player in the French market, 123 Pare-Brise operates with a fully integrated network of workshops and a business model that is focused on direct-to-consumer sales. The company employs just under 900 employees with total sales of approximately 100 MEUR.
