Cary Group expands into Poland through acquisition of Szybex

Cary Group, a European market leader in Vehicle Glass Repair and Replacement (VGRR) services, has signed an agreement to acquire 55% of Szybex, one of the leading VGRR specialist in Poland.

Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Częstochowa, Szybex is a family owned VGRR specialist which operates a network of 14 fully owned workshops and a network of 189 external partner workshops across Poland. Szybex has high customer satisfaction, a positive brand reputation for quality service and solid relationships with insurance companies and leasing companies. The company employs just under 80 employees. Poland is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe with a car fleet of 23 million vehicles.

Szybex will continue to operate under its existing brand and management, ensuring continuity for customers, partners, and employees. Szybex was founded by the Ossoliński and Wilkosz families, both will continue to be operational in the company and through the Board. The acquisition of Szybex was completed on the 1st of December.

Cary Group commits to the SBTi Net-Zero Standard

Cary Group aims to be an industry leader in climate action. The company is now taking the next step by committing to the SBTi Net-Zero Standard and setting a long-term ambition to achieve net-zero emissions across the value chain by 2050. 

 In 2023, Cary Group had its emission target for 2030 validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) demonstrating that Cary Group’s planned emissions reductions align with the 1.5 °C pathway. Building on this foundation, it was a natural step to commit to the SBTi Net-Zero target.

 

“We are very pleased to take this step in reinforcing our commitment to reducing emissions. Since 2023, our near-term targets for 2030 have already been validated by the SBTi. Committing to Net-Zero sends a critical message to our customers, partners, and employees”, says Helene Gustafsson, Director Corporate Communications of Cary Group.

Working towards net zero under the SBTi framework means: 

  • Combining near-term targets with a long-term trajectory, ensuring continued progress towards 2030 while setting a clear direction towards 2050. 
  • Achieving substantial emission reductions across the entire value chain, with at least 90% of the total emissions to be reduced by 2050. 
  • Prioritising actual reduction, using carbon removals for only those emissions that cannot be further reduced. 
  • Including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3, covering all emissions across operations and the value chain 

By adopting the Net-Zero Standard, Cary Group strengthens its long-term climate ambition and its work to reduce climate impact across the business.
