ExpressGlass strengthens its presence in Portugal through the acquisition of Newcar

ExpressGlass, a leading actor in windscreen repair and replacement, strengthens its position in Portugal with the acquisition of Newcar, active in vehicle glass repair and replacements with a network of 32 workshops across Portugal.

"The acquisition of Newcar is an important part of strengthening ExpressGlass presence and network in important locations in Portugal. The quality of the service of the technicians in Newcar has a high standard and we believe Newcar is of a great cultural fit to ExpressGlass", says Joana Marques, CEO of ExpressGlass.

 

Newcar was founded by Luis Oliveira and Nuno Mendonça in 1998 and is now led by Managing Director Antonio Nunes, who will play a key role in supporting ExpressGlass during this transitional period.

As of today, ExpressGlass has 88 workshops, of which 47 owned and 41 franchisees. With the acquisition of Newcar, the number of workshops will amount to 120.

Cary Group's acquisition strategy focuses on platform acquisitions to enter new geographic markets, add-on acquisitions to strengthen its presence in existing markets, and smaller acquisitions to improve its footprint and achieve additional scale on a local market. Cary Group strengthens its market position in the UK with the acquisition of Autoscreens Direct Limited, which trades as Autoscreens.

Cary Group has acquired Autoscreens Direct Limited, which trades as Autoscreens. The acquisition of Autoscreens is the third acquisition outside of National Windscreens, Cary Groups existing business in the UK.

“This strategic acquisition is part of Cary UK’s ongoing growth plan, strengthening our presence in a high-demand region and expanding our capacity to serve customers, says Anders Jensen, CEO of Cary Group.

Autoscreens is a well-established provider of windscreen fitting services across Watford, Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Milton Keynes and Slough. Autoscreens was established by John Considine in 1996. John will remain as General Manager reporting to the UK Managing Director Stuart Boon.
