Cary Group publishes the 2023 Sustainability Report

Cary Group today announces that the company’s 2023 Sustainability Report available at www.carygroup.com/sustainability/

“In 2023, we took several great steps on our journey to become truly sustainable. We achieved an all- time high Group wide repair rate of windscreen of 33% and established a green fleet strategy including a policy that no more new ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) company cars will be procured either via leasing or purchase. It is with pride that our goals have been verified by the Science Based Targets Initiative. I know that we in 2024 will continue to take more steps towards a more sustainable future, continuing offering our customers smarter solutions for sustainable car care”, says Anders Jensen, CEO of Cary Group.

Cary Group’s reduction targets, now verified by SBTi, sets out a reduction of CO2e emission from scope 1 & 2 by 42%, in line with the 1.5°C scenario from 2022 to 2030. Scope 3 emissions should be reduced in relation to gross profit by 52% by 2030, compared to the base year 2022. The Scope 3 target includes purchased goods and services, fuel and energy, transportation and distribution and waste generated in operations.

As a part of our reduction road map to reach our SBTs, Cary Group will from 2024 and onward continue to climate compensate for its own operations (Scope 1 and 2), but for the value chain emissions (Scope 3), instead implement internal carbon pricing (ICP) to accelerate the emission reduction.

On March 7, 2024, Dansk Bilglas, part of Cary Group, in collaboration with automotive and lifestyle expert Christian Grau, presented an exciting webinar focusing on the calibration of windshield cameras in connection with windshield replacement. The event was an overwhelming success and sparked significant interest in the insurance industry.

Representatives from 24 different insurance companies participated, while Christian Grau and three experts guided them through the topic. Dansk Bilglas had assembled a strong team of experts in the field:

Hella Gutmann Solutions A/S – expert in ADAS calibration

Christian Henningsen, Technical Manager, Dansk Bilglas A/S – go-to expert in ADAS calibration

The webinar focused on concrete examples and opportunities to provide participants with insights into both solutions and challenges in calibration. SBTi approves Cary Group’s science-based emission reduction targets

Cary Group’s targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have now been verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as aligned with the latest climate science and consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement. Cary Group committed to set targets in line with SBTI’s criteria in May 2022 and submitted the new targets for validation in October 2023.

“We are very pleased that our emission reduction targets have now been validated by SBTi, and we look forward to continuing offer our customers smarter solutions for sustainable car care. With a strong focus on circularity and repairing instead of replacing windshields, when possible, our journey now accelerates. Our climate impact will continue to reduce by increasing the share of renewable energy, operate with sustainable transportation, and work towards a sustainable supply chain”, says Anders Jensen, CEO of Cary Group.

With the new targets Cary Group has committed to reduce CO2e emissions from scope 1 & 2 by 42% in line with the 1.5°C scenario from 2022 to 2030. For Scope 3, emissions should be reduced in relation to gross profit by 52% by 2030, compared to the base year 2022. The Scope 3 target includes purchased goods and services, fuel and energy, transportation and distribution and waste generated in operations.

The SBTi is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030.
